It’s been almost two decades since SisQo dropped his panty-loving smash “Thong Song.” The 2000 hit — which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and had many singing lines like “She had dumps like a truck” — has found its way back into the social media era as a sample on Ludacris‘ latest single “Vitamin D” featuring Ty Dolla $ign.
“I liked the way they rocked over “Thong Song”‘s music with their beat and added in different instruments,” SisQo tells Billboard over e-mail. “Makes me feel like I may want to add some of their mix to my show LOL.”
While the unmistakable violin sequence in the beginning — which, itself, is a sample of jazz great Wes Montgomery‘s “Eleanor Rigby” cover — carries the Da Internz-produced beat for Luda’s steamy new track, “Vitamin D” is a bit more explicit than the Dru Hill singer’s ode to string-y underwear.
Instead of us breaking it down it full, pop on over to Genius for the lyrics — and don’t be heading to your local GNC store asking for Vitamin D.
