What a Valid Takedown Notice Must Contain

Filing a Counter-Notice

If material attributed to you was removed and you believe the removal was mistaken or the content was misidentified, you may send a counter-notice to the same agent address. Include your name, address, and phone number; identification of the removed material and where it previously appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the removal resulted from error or misidentification; and your consent to the jurisdiction of a federal district court for the district where you reside (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), plus your agreement to accept service of process from the original complainant. Sign it. We will forward a complete counter-notice to the original claimant.
